I think I’m not doing enough smoothie recipes and they are quite popular…I absolutely love smoothies because they are super easy to make…it doesn’t take a genius to throw 5 ingredients in a blender to make something quite delicious! And that’s why I love them – they are quick, simple and 9 times out of 10, they would turn out very tasty.
I promise I’ll start doing more and more smoothies, especially with summer just around the corner. Adding some ice cubes would make this an amazing summer treat with a very healthy, proteinny (is that even a word, lol) twist!
This one though is quite special because it combines peanut butter and raspberries – 2 of my favourits. Peanut butter can be fairly good for you if you don’t go overboard with it – so just be careful and consume it in moderate amounts, unless you swim 100 lengths on a daily basis 😉 Also, try to get the one that only has peanuts on the back of it – no any added seed oils or sugar. Natural peanut butter is a great snack and it tastes amazing, just as I said…make sure it’s not loaded with vegetable oils or sugar! In general, peanut butter is loaded with healthy fats, vitamins and minerals and contains a fair amount of protein. Not necessarily the best protein in terms of quality but it’s still a better source than Nutella!(Captain Obvious).
Now on to our special guest in this recipe – raspberries. They are super delicious and healthy! Rich in vitamins, antioxidants and fiber, raspberries are one of nature’s super fruit! Due to their high Vitamin C content, raspberries are great for your immune system and general health…
If you’ve caught a cold or a virus, raspberries can definitely be considered as nature’s NATURAL pills. They have great anti-inflammatory functions and therefore help you maintain glowing and healthy skin tone, reducing wrinkles and age spots
The combination of chocolate, raspberry and peanut butter is very vibrant and quite uplifting. If you put too many raspberries, your protein smoothie may end up slightly sour but that’s nothing to worry about, it will lift you up even higher!
